Linkin park new album - Living Things

As a big and long time Linkin Park fan, I actually had Linkin Park playing when I found this thread. I just play Meteora, Hybrid Theory, and Minutes to Midnight on loop.

You know I think Linkin Park stopped being Linkin Park after their last album. It's just so different.

It's not necessarily BAD, but when I think Linkin Park it's definitely not the music they're putting out now.

I think some of their songs are good, like on their last album Burning In The Skies, but now instead of loving every song on their albums, I just love a few.

I don't expect much out of them anymore.

I didn't care much for their earlier albums - I liked some of their songs on most albums, and this one is no different.

I also like 'castle of glass'

 

I really liked there early albums.. Everything else they make now just seems to sound the same..
It dissapoints me really.

Early Albums = THE BEST

My friend and I were in his car listening to the radio when one of the new Linkin Parks came on, he told me it was Linkin Park and I said to myself "WTF?".

Their new sound is.. different, can't say much more.

 

I really didn't like the early albums, too much screaming and everything.

I like the middle albums, I liked hybrid theory + Thousand Suns, and Living things isn't bad =]

 

Hybrid Theory was their first album and their best album by far. Thousand suns was awful, it didnt feel like it was linkin park at all. Living things is ok but they have started to shift their music from the best albums (Hybrid Theory and Meteora) to a little softer feeling music. I prefer to listen to their old music over their new music. well we shall see im going to see them in concert in August!

 

Wait I may be getting hybrid theory confused with minutes to midnight

The first album I really liked was the one where they came out with like Leave Out all the rest, New Divide, etc. I think that was Minutes to midnight =]

 

Yes it is.
I used to listen to Linkin Park, System of a Down etc.
Meteora and Hybrid Theory are great albums, but I moved onto more heavier stuff.

 

Personally I liked this album, it was better than their last one and I am like both electronic music and metal/rock music so it was appealing to me. I do wish they make another collab album though, they can be pretty good.

 

personally i think that linkin park is a horrible band, singing is bad, lyrics are bad, beats are bad, screaming is bad, rapping is bad. to me they are a fake band, in that they dont do it for the music in any way, they just release a album for every new transformers movie.

Actually their singer has probably top 5 strongest/best voice in the 'hard rock' genre and Mike Shinoda is awesome. They just haven't been any good for the last two albums and anyone who just got into them in the last couple of albums missed the good era.

 

Alright.

I don't like screaming/rapping, but I think the singing, lyrics, and musical value (like bass, melody, etc), is pretty good.

 

<3 Linkin Park, although i prefer their old music to their newer ones. Some of them are good don't get me wrong, but the older stuff is just unbeatable, i still listen to it today with pride

To be honest, i used to listen to Linkin Park back in the day when they were just getting big and had a number of great albums, now i barely hear about them, their old stuff was the best in my opinion, along with most artists and bands these days, it seems the more albums they bring out the more down hill it goes, just like rs with updates to be honest haha.
