I wonder if your private/public chat being off/on has any effect on anything? Being monitored, or if they're investigating if they take that into consideration.

or resolution and stuff, if you could program a bot to bot on high detail, think that would make you less likely to get caught?

And taking breaks to do non bot stuff like grand exchange/talk to people/ etc. Think that helps prevent a ban?

Let's discuss these kinds of things.

Well, I think some bots work on high detail, and private off is obviously suspicious in my opinion. Taking breaks would also effect there investigation because humans need breaks. All interesting things that in my opinion do affect botting. (is that correct or effect?) Everything is evidence so to do as much human as possible (besides play lol) Would technically make the chance for ban less.

Not many bots run off of safe-mode as far as i know. Breaks are a hit-miss, it's more about how much you play per day, people do play for 12+ hours straight but no one plays 18 hours a day without botting every single day. If you suicide for a few days, maybe you get away with it, but if you suicide for 5 days a week for 3 months.. It's basically no chance at not getting caught. If you take exactly a 12 minute break every 3 hours.. all that does is stack up against you, so if you use breaks you have to use them wisely.

You're probably right though, as far as private chat goes, and the fact all this stuff does play some role in their investigations/ways of picking out accounts to investigate.

I hate having my private chat off personally, but I have friends on there who I think would be suspicous of me not responding for 20 hours straight..I should write them down and readd them after botting so I can look less suspicious.

I doubt they check every single person's time logs. What I think is that reports flag a person, which leads to investigating time played, etc. I wouldn't turn pub off, I do have private on friends, because I always have had it on private when I was legit and will continue to do so.

Botting somewhere empty, where you only see one person every 3 days, imo, reduces the risk greatly. I have yet to suicide bot but I do agree on the fact that some people do play 12-15 hours a day WITHOUT breaks (that is if the activity is somewhat afk-able so you can use the restroom, etc).

I think it's all about being smart about it, if the area is full of bots already, and is a well known bot-fested area, well you're asking for a ban. If the area is used by alot of legit players, you'e also asking for trouble because alot of legit high-lvls are wannabe mods and report anyone who doesn't respond.

Last but not least, if you bot but babysit your bot, well the risks are probably near 0% since the reason why most people get reported is because of not responding or their bad bots bugging in an obvious way.

Mostly agree, but I don't babysit as much anymore. I nearly suicide in the heaviest botted area (aside from maybe sw) and that's lrc. The banrate is incredibly low, almost non existent, it's because it's impossible to know bots from real players there. Aside from there and sw, heavily botted areas are heavily banned areas (ie sorc garden). So for the most part, i think you're right.

Private chat should be off, because not replying to friends will obviously raise the red flag for them. It doesn't matter for public chat, though, as either way people will try to talk to you.

As for HD or not, I personally play legitimately on SD (just saying).

When "legit-breaking", don't do the same activity, though, as Jagex will immediatly link the talking, etc with the more humanlike mouse movements.

The high detail thing is interesting. All bots work off of safe mode by the way.
And I suicide.. so it doesnt matter what kind of resolution i use. as soon as they catch me im screwed :p

Pretty good advice here. I always tend to check on my bot when I can to fix any problems and it's a rare event when I bot overnight..
