How's this for a Lappy?

I'm looking into Laptops since I need one soon, because I've had mine for around 5-6 years and it's really outdated with a 16mb video card. At least it's IBM XD.

The ones I found range from $900 to $1200 and these are the System Specs.

Pentium Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0 Ghz
256 (Dedicated) and also one with Expandable (Up to 384mb) and (1 Gig).
4 GB of RAM
DVD Drive (No need for me to buy Blue-Ray yet)
Windows Vista (I can always replace it with XP)

Tell me what you think. Also... I hate Dell and dislike Acer for Laptops. I only look for HP, Sony and Toshiba. Maybe somebody can suggest me another laptop ranging in the price of $800 - $1100. It'll be for some game use (GTA IV) and Homework and School.

I will be purchasing around November.

 

What is the Graphics card? if by 256 you mean Graphics memory, then look for around 512.

It'll be just fine, it depends on what you wish to run on it tho. Don't worry about the RAM, you can always buy more for that. My laptop has 2 Gig RAM and it is superfast. As long as you have around 512 RAM you're fine for RS, WoW and Steam...

 

it's not as easy to get ram for laptops... they need to take the whole thing apart which wrecks your warranty

 

Unless you go to the company that built it for you right? I could always fidget around later on with a better video card. I plan to buy (Yes... Actually Buy not Download XD) GTA IV. I wonder if that'll be fine... at least for Med Graphics.
