I don't see why people go so far as to riot ingame. It literally accomplishes nothing, and is just a waste of time.

Jagex will never listen to the players anyways, or not the majority atleast.

How dumb is that? Did a riot in RS ever accomplish anything?

It's fun to see, makes me laugh but pointless and must of them just end up getting muted.

Rioting over graphical changes? I support Jagex on permanently banning everyone even contemplating to riot about such a stupid reason.

1000 people ranting, or even 5000 for that matter, are not the majority of the players. The happy people just don't tend to make a big fuss about everything.

The people ranting are not the majority I was talking about. They are probably a very, very small percentage of the majority. I also think the graphical updates are pretty terrible yet you don't see me on W66 Falador.

What I mean't by my comment was that these graphical updates are apparantly based on player feedback and input. The players they are talking about are the very small group of people that attended Runefest. So they have at most, a few hundred people oohing and aaahing at their graphical ideas and artist's preview pictures at Runefest, yet forgot about the millions of other players who play Runescape that might not feel the same way, yet just didn't want to buy a ticket to fly across the world to a nerdfest.

You cannot deny that Jagex does not listen to their player base. They rarely ever take feedback, suggestions, and they sure as hell do not include us in the process of changing the things we love. They do whatever the hell they want, because they know we will continue to play anyways,

People tend to hate change, I'm sure that in a few weeks we'll all be used to the new armour. Let's be honest, full rune didn't really look all that good in the past.

In my opinion asking player feedback/input on runefest was a good thing. You can't expect them to put a poll on the frontpage for every piece of content they want to release.

They don't have to hold a poll on the front page necessarily, there are many different ways to involve players in the process. Polls are one of them, tweeting or posting questions on Facebook to recieve comments is another (they have a large fanbase on both), asking questions on the forums and interacting with players, posting art/drawings that showcase what they are thinking of changing with new armours and what players feel should be tweaked and changed, etc. Its not rocket science.

I don't understand why everybody who is in support of these updates has to go around barking out the same excuse for the negative reactions - "people are afraid of change."

I really do not like this update and I am not afraid of change. I am an oldschool RS vet and began playing this game when I was merely 10 years old. I am 21 now, you do the math. If I was afraid of change I would not be playing this game anymore, which has changed drastically since 2001. In fact, I am all in support of change. But the change has to be for the better (you can't possibly think that alot of the new armours were changed for the better because they look horrible), and I would appreciate it if players had some kind of input in the process before Jagex goes around destroying the game we love, probably just so they can make a few more bucks.

Every update there will be players who dislike it, even if the world was filled (2000 players) of rioters, thts like 2% of online players, that really means Jack shit. Ever since weeks prior to free trade rioting became really old, as any person that was bored would get ppl to folo them and say 'riot' .... 'rioters' need to Grow up

I don't know what kids are hoping to achieve with 'rioting'. Jagex don't even notice or care about them, if anything they have the same scale of annoyance level as spam bots. You should see the rants on the RS forum as well, it's just a waste of time, Jagex never pay any attention to them.

Virtual riots, such a laughable concept. If they are so opposed disabling their membership would be a better way to go about it.

Riots such a waste of time imo. Only several thousand people quitting runescape and no longer funding them would ruffle their feathers and make them reconsider any updates.

Lol, the riots over the armour updates are pretty stupid I imagine. I haven't been by Falador W66 though so I couldn't say for sure.

If you want to see what a real Runescape riot looks like, check out this video of the "Pay to PK" riots that happened when Jagex removed the wilderness and free trade:

I was never there for the riots, but I think it is pretty hilarious  This riot was held under different circumstances though, and as silly as a virtual riot is, I think this was for a really good cause and I don't blame all those people for going apeshit when Jagex took away the wilderness.
