Maxed out someone else's account?

Long story short:
A few years ago I bought a level 3 with a cool name. It had like 60 fishing and cooking so the guy played on it a bit. My main got banned and I made it into a main. 3 years later.. I almost have all 99's on it. Before I changed the name the original owner would randomly PM me and ask for his account back or say "Hey! I'm the original owner! Get off!"

Does the fact that I have NO creation details (location, ISP, date created (month) I know the year, ect.) mean that I can't be a moderator? I have every single transaction ID and almost every single password after I bought it.

I'm just VERY paranoid. I mean, what if I get ALL 99's and 120 dungeoneering on this account and one day the guy recovers? I know how easy it is to recover accounts if you have even the ISP and original date. What if the guy forgot about Runescape? What if he started playing again recently? There are so many factors that come into my mind.

What are the chances?

 

Im not any expert on this or anything, but since you have been playing it for SO long I think jagex would recognise you as the original owner, even if he did try to recover I think it would be unsuccessful.

 

Isp the account is created with, first password, recovering on the ip the account was created on can get the account back in most cases. As for the mod.... you could still become one I would think unless jagex knows you bought the account. Chances.... Only he would know to be honest. If he wants it he will take it.

 

He won't be able to get the account back even if he knows a few details because its recognised on your computer and i'm not to sure about the runescape mod, just try it they cant ban you.

 

He would probably forget like any other human would unless he wrote it down somewhere and is planning on recovering it a few years later. You should be able to recover it though if you have all the transaction, previous passwords, etc..

 

but see, there's a section on the Runescape forums where you can simply post and if you're the original owner they'll remove ALL of the details that were put on the account. I fear that he may recover it, even just once, and post on there. I believe that Jagex checks the ISP creator because they don't ask for any input on the recovery.

 

How do you even apply to become a Runescape Mod anyway?

About two years ago? Maybe less? I just added him to ignore.

You don't apply. However, when they consider you I'm sure they check stuff.

You never fully know.. I had someone recommend me so I'm sure it helped.

 

Well it depends really... if he remembers the info or not. If he does, he recovers, if he doesn't, he won't be able to. You wont be able to find out either so really.... time is going to tell. Your going to have to play on the account while having this in your head, I don't know how I would be able to manage it. Best of luck to you and hope he doesn't remember the info.

 

Exactly my thoughts man. I've had this fear in my head ever since I got its first 99. I was like "Wait a second..". I'm REALLY paranoid in real life so this just makes it worst -.-

 

There's seriously nothing you can do about it... how many 99's do you have on it, if you don't mind me asking?

dude if this was a couple years ago he's already tried to recover it.. thats why he would of pm'd you cause he cant recover it.

 

Nice damn account. Anyways, I think the guy probably doesn't remember the recovery information. I say this because, it's been such a long time since you bought it and if he did remember it, why did he PM you telling you to get off his account?

 

You're both probably right, he's an idiot. However, if he's a persistent idiot I'm screwed. Heck, I hacked an old account of mine that I forgot the password to by just putting my ISP, the year it was created, and explaining some further details.

 

You can always just try a recovery with the info you yourself have.
If it works, it should help ease your paranoia.


Also, if perhaps you made some smalltalk with the original owner and know hold old he is/where he lives? Knowing that you could certainly guess the original creation ISP and year or creation.
