Max Pc Performance

Alright this is a simple guide I learnt a few months ago ( I did not create or think up this method).

This really helped me on my old Pc since Vista had alot of crashes! and I couldnt run the games I wanted.


First off:
Right Click "Computer" on desktop and select "Properties"


Secondly:
You should see the folllowing interface, now click "Advanced system settings"


Thirdly:
1. Select "Adjust for best performance"
2.Click Apply
3.Click OK


Now your done! Dont expect to be able to play games like COD5 without a good graphics card.
But your PC should now be more reliable since its using less ram.

I am running on dual GeForce 8800GTX cards on my laptop so this guide doesnt really apply to me.

Jesus nice card, you mean your running the 8800M GTX tho, or is it the desktop version. And this isn't really squeezing ALL the performance out of your PC, this is too basic for that.

 

8800s are really not very good anymore. My brother wants to buy a new card that is more powerful than both of his current 8800s combined. You should add more ways to make your computer have better performance since this is really short.

 

Yea its only a simple guide and it had dramatic effect on me since I enjoyed downloading Pc games. and I usally have alot of windows open.

Btw what do you mean are not very good anymore? I can run any game/application at max settings. Anyways I still think their great since they came stock with my Dell m1730 and I got 4GB ram.

 

8800M GTXs are still top dogs in the lap top industry, I'm well aware that there are far better cards than that for the desktop platform tho

 

for laptops, yea they are good... i have a 8600 and its nice... run most games on high settings just with 20fps though..

 

Sorry to be so off topic here, but can you run counter strike source or /L4D smoothly with it, im thinking of getting a 9600M GT witch is quite similar to the 8600M GT?

 

The 8800 chipset is better than it should be for how old it is... If you look at benchmarks and such they tend to outperform many models that came out afterwards.

I'm pretty sure the 9600M GT chipset is not very good... but I think it should play both CSS and L4D fine on lower settings.

If you're going to call it a guide to "Max Pc Performance" you really should show other ways to help such as allocating more virtual memory, disabling startup programs and/or services, etc.

 

I just called it Max Pc performance for the Catchy name TBH. Also those other two options you suggested there are already guides on those I made sure to check other guides before I posted this.
