But on n = 2..
n = 4 - 0.8 x 2
= 3.2

But it should be 3.24

Yeah no worries, I'ts probably just me, but i'm like super brain dead. It's holidays here, takes you out of the zone doing assignments on holidays - lol.

 

Ooh okay. I don't get why the answer is 3.24 on the second one.. Is this situation supposed to be represented on a graph?

 

Umm, it doesn't say that, but i guess i could ad one.

But it says for example it's a drug in your system. Each hour 20% of it is removed. So in the first hour 20% of the 4 is removed, in the second our 20% of what is left is removed, etc.

 

a thought just occured, it would have to be a quadratic wouldn't it.

 

Well, it could be a quadratic, rational (1/x) or exponential (a+, b-)

 

Hmm, I'll keep trying to work it out, I'll graph it see if that helps.

i dunno where you got .9 from, but it could work.

 

nevermind, i just realised in my calculations i took 10% away rather than 20% like it said =S. gotcha

n = 4 X (0.9(x))

 

I have encountered the same problem set before. I think if n = 2 x = 3.24, then you should multiply the 3.24 to 1, 20%. As n increases by 1, 20% of the amount of x that is present is taken from the x.

 

? What, did you just rephrase my question?
