    Massive Problem with Windows 7

It seems that i have thousands of viruses on my computer and it's running extremely slow. I've tryed all the major anti virus scanners and I've came to the decision to reset my computer to factory default.

The only problem is that the laptop came with Windows Vista and I upgraded it to Windows 7. What I did in the past was I'd hold down the '0' key when the computer was turning on and I'd follow the instructions to reset it to factory settings. Now I'm on Windows 7 and that doesn't work since It deleted the factory setting operating system when I upgraded to W7.

I have the Windows 7 on a disk but when I put it in the computer it doesn't exactly do anything. Also, the windows 7 disk is just an upgrade and keeps all the files on the computer, I want them removed.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

What anti-virus programs have you tried?

Okay..there's a few ways to go about this. My first question would be, what kind of upgrade did you do? (clean install of multi-boot) .

^ When you've answered that i'll give you some suggestions.

P.S. "thousands of viruses" ? How would that even happen? You're computer wouldn't be able to even turn on if it was anything serious, so I don't see why even a free scanner couldn't wipe away the majority of them. Like FireZ said, which ones have you tried using? I could recommend quite a few for you.

You could physically take the hard drive out, put it as slave to another computer and from there Windows>Run>Format D: or w/e the command is from the other computers operating system.

Also, if you partition your hard drive enough to add another O/S or a simple dos program, you can dual boot and you might be able to format like that as well.

Windows 7 is notorious for being resilient to uninstalls so I have heard.

If these dont work I can think of some more.
