Hello all,

I have been considering starting a new martial art class for a long while now and I figured as it's a new year and all I will give it a go.

I used to train karate (go kan ryu) and gave up after a few grades as I took up other hobbies and slowly lost the motivation for it all (which I regret).

I was wondering if anyone here (from experience) can recommend a decent martial art style to consider ?

Thanks.

Capoeira

It teaches you spacial awareness, rhythm, control, teamwork, all the kicks punches and flips you could ever imagine, and it looks cool to watch an incredibly choreographed performance.

I have never heard of this before, and it sounds very interesting, going to do some research into it now. Have you trained this style before ?

The Tekken game series have two playable characters who use Capoeira fighting style, Christie Monteiro and Eddy Gordo.

Interesting.

Well, I'll say I've done Muay Thai and it's always a great workout. But I do boxing now.

Not sure if srs or just newfag...
Krav Maga is a really good one for defending yourself in real world situations.

I have a friend who does Muay Thai and he says it is quite intense and pretty hard stuff ? And also do you prefer boxing to Muay Thai ? Which would you recommend ?

Many thanks.

Got a friend from Brazil that used to do capoeira, it's fucking amazing, although you may struggle to find places to train if you don't live in Brazil.
