Poll: RSGP is going to rise??

Edit: I'm a n33b, will a mod please remove the 2nd "Poll:" from my title? Thanks lol

So, with the banning of potentially hundreds of thousands of botting accounts (if Jagex is successful), there's obviously going to be an impact on the price of RS gold.

The way I see it is, with no more reflection bots to farm gold (reflection bots were the vast majority) there will be a severely restricted supply of gold. Players will also have to invest their own time and efforts into gathering gold now, too. (This is all assuming Jagex is successful)

I believe that with these new factors, the price of RSGP will rise, and the cost of RS items will crash. I think we may see rapid deflation of vanity items such as P-hats and other super expensive items.

What's everyone else's opinion? I'm going to make a poll:

    - RSGP will rise and items will fall.
    - RSGP will rise and items will rise.
    - RSGP will fall and items will fall.
    - RSGP will fall and items will rise.

If millions of botting accounts are banned, it will deflate the RSGP currency and cause its price to increase. Therefore, ingame item's prices should decrease. However, if many non-attainable items (rares) are also removed from the game, rare prices could also skyrocket.

Poll: RSGP is going to rise??

So I have explained this a few times in a few different threads. There will be an initial 'fear' jump in gold prices, but the way currency works is that it circulates kind of like blood in the body. There is a certain amount of it and gold is constantly added into the economy through various means but there aren't too many money sinks to take money out. Any economy is based on supply and demand and the gold market has a constant supply as well as a fairly constant demand. The only way to increase prices significantly is to remove a significant amount of gold from the economy period or increase the demand so much.

Though the consumables will hit a rise in price because of the fact that there won't be as much coming into the system and they're constantly being taken out through skilling use.

RSGP will rise but not like everyone is expecting it to.

I think as far as items go, it will be a little bit more complex than just "UP" or "DOWN". We must think about the effects that these bots have on specific types of items. People say nature runes will skyrocket because so many millions are made each day from botters, but you must also consider those same botters are also providing a demand in the form of alching millions of nature runes a day as well. Bots make food, but they also use it "i.e. GDK bots and the like".

As others have said, gold will most likely go up in price but it won't really become worth more in an economic sense. There are still plenty of legit players that will quickly notice the spikes in price making items "worth legitting" which will in turn make that item go right back down in price. In the end, Runescape's economy has a certain amount of gold, gold prices plummet because there is so much gold in the game that it's easier to come by, and items are just gold in a different pixelated form so they go down as well. If the gold flow halts, all we can hope for is that certain money sinks already implemented into the game (construction and other money sink skills, random deaths that don't get looted, etc......) will start to remove all of this money which has already been put into the game over the past year or so.

I personally think RSGP will rise and so will items, even if only temporarily. I kind of doubt that this update will be all that Jagex is cracking it up to be, but we'll see lol.

Just curious - is RSBuddy reflection? I can't remember.
