    Jump Rope good enough cardio?

Hey, I was just wondering if jumping rope is good enough cardio and can take place of me running,
I find running very tedious and boring, i live in ohio so its Cold ALL THE TIME
so i use my treadmill and stare at a will for 20 minutes while running
I do use music but it still gets boring sometimes

im not really looking for losing weight just more toning my abs, i just got done with basketball season so idk what to do now, heres a pic of me currently

I can see that bony part on your right side. get some back muscles and try to take a picture a bit more relaxed.

And jumping rope wont be enough, doing both is better. Endurance requires alot more than 20 minutes of running on the mill.

Skipping is actually really good exercise, try skipping for 15 minutes straight while double jumping. It's easier said than done.

If you wanna tone your abs why not just work on your core? Sit ups, push ups to a point, crunches. Just try doing 15 minutes worth of skipping, and then 100-200 sit ups afterwards.

Skipping is a very good cardio exercise. People may criticize you for it being 'girly' or what not. But it is the best cardio if you dont have much time to exercise or space.

Just skip for around 30min - 1 hr per day.

    Its great cardio imo.

Doing the jump rope IS good but not enough. You got to combine it with a good lifting workout which will make your body leaner. Also eat 4-6 meals a day each 2-3 hours to get your metabolism going. The higher your metabolism, the faster you'll lose the fats you eat. Therefore seeing your abs faster.
However, I do not hope your one of those beach boys who only trains his upper body and has chicken legs.
