I saw that. I'm glad people stepped up and gave them donations. They will make a bunch of random people so happy.

I actually think it is sad that someone being nice is a news story.

I try to do random things that are nice to people all the time. I leave generous tips as well.

I read a story on the BBC website about how a couple from Australia got scammed with fake tickets for the Olympics, and didn't realise until they came to the UK.

An anonymous person from London then donated tickets to them for free.

It's always nice to see people happy when you help them out. But sometimes seeing people happy can make you sad, e.g. when I got pked once for 30m and this guy was celebrating like mad.

that story was somewhat heartwarming, I guess everyday things such as helping your friends family etc. does make a difference even if it isn't world changing. Volunteering for projects and so fourth

I try to leave nice tips. I just do 20% and round up. Unless they are awesome and then I really round up. :S

Wow, that is a great story!
Their website says they have received nearly $50,000 in donations so far, which is a huge amount lol, I can't believe that.

Think giving back and making someone so happy like that is one of the best things someone can do imo.

Normally I do 20% as well, but that may increase or decrease depending on how nice/rude the waiter/waitress is haha.

That being said, it's always nice to see people do small things, even if it's simply giving up your bus/train seat, holding the door open for someone else, etc.

    I do this as well.

20% all the time (If you've never been in the food industry, let me tell you most of those guys deserve it)

Much more if they make the night :)

    Thats pretty awesome really.
20% is the norm of course.

Mankind has a long way to go, but one day.... one day.

Some people really go out of their way to help those in need.
Sadly others take advantage over this. Hopefully one day....

That's awesome. I bet as soon as they enter any restaurant now, everyone will try and serve them asap, be that lucky waiter/waitress.

Nice find, interesting read. I was a little suspicious how they had raised over $50,000 in donations and plan to give away 500/week, its not them being kind themselves its the family taking money FROM kind people and passing it onto random people such as waiters.

So you expect them to find 500 dollars (which if you're an adult with bills, it's a LOT of money) and give it away?.

Also, how is it in any "suspicious"? I don't think you know what that word means or are thinking something completely different.

They could have raised the 50k, gave 1 person 500 dollars and then kept the rest for themselves. Instead they chose to give it to random waiters.

I would honestly like them to go to a crappy area and just give away like 5k in 50's...or even just do it randomly in the street to people who look like they need it.
