Make Stickies more notice-able and/or fix seeing deleted shit

Why don't we add some sort of gap like that around the stickies so they stand out? Since the color of stickies are different, they're easily seen. However, over time, this will just make people get used to ignoring them just like banner advertisements. Example above: you notice the stickies a lot more since there's two deleted stickies in between.

Also, get rid of being able to see deleted Stickies, make it only for dicing section and trade sections to where you can see deleted threads, or, just make mods/admins not delete stickies. Maybe even let people hide stickies. Div would work well

 

:love: Thanks, I know it was a genius thing to do =p. I support this idea so long as it is done as simply some sort of false gap that doesn't affect the amount of threads that can be shown on the first page.

The deleted stickies... I agree are ugly I don't know why the staff hasn't archived them by now lmao =p.

 

Definitely support this. This would be VERY helpful to newcomers, especially in the Report a scammer section because nobody notices them, or reads them either way it would help.

 

I believe there have been a few suggestions like ths one and still nothing has happened. Support, and while we are waiting, please unsticky deleted threads.

 

Some deleted stickies are left because they're for the staff to see.

If the sticky is deleted and holds no purpose, it's removed. The one listed above holds a purpose, and therefor will not be removed.

 

In that case I can't support either suggestion as they are written.

Clearly removing the deleted stickies is not an option (unless they're moved somewhere else for the staff (?)


I don't think that adding a gap would really incentivize people to pay any more attention to the stickies, if anything it would just serve as an annoyance the people who are used to seeing them as they are right now. Maybe something could be done to make them stand out more without an unaesthetic gap? Eg, bolder text, a large lock icon, maybe a color that stands out even more perhaps?

So your two stickies, and Karl's sticky, are for the staff to see.
There couldn't just be one staff sticky? I can't imagine what it would have pertaining to the spam forum that's so important, that could not be in the staff lounge.

I am on the fence about this. I don't see how anyone is going to pay any more attention to them even if they are more visible. It takes initiative to read them and we can't force that on people.

 

Why not just move these stickies in to the Staff Lounge?

 

Wasn't Giddy's old sticky that RRR thing? Where you rolled and you got something (for example an infraction) depending on what number you rolled.

Because they're section specific stickies, and the SL is already cluttered enough as it is.

Nah, mine were just to piss in your cheerios after your thread about the first one, which I've already removed.

 

I think in some sections such as the report a scammer section it will help. Often members don't follow the way you're meant to make a report a scammer thread. This wastes staff members time and it would also help save the members time if they knew how to do it without being told to read the instructions.

 

Honestly, making them more "noticeable" won't help with this. People are ignorant as all hell, which has been demonstrated time and time again. The stickies are clearly labeled, "READ ME FIRST" and yet they still can't spot them.

Turning them into an eyesore won't help, they'll just further be ignored.

I suppose that's true tbh. Like I read once "the average Sythe user is stupid". To be honest I don't think anything can be done to help however much ignorant people are. Are they usually given a warning or anything? like a warning for spam or something idk
