[DENIED] Make it against the rules to quote vouches in any thread other than where they are posted

Seriously. Its getting annoying and its happened me me multiple times in the last month where I get notifications about something silly. Maybe if its a $1k+ vouch or more sure, you can quote that to show you are trusted, but this is kinda ridic

People are abusing this to mass notify people about stuff they have for sale

I got nothing against this guy, but I don't want to look at his GMauler

Agreed, annoying and also almost nullifies the entire point of the vouch section of the forum if people are able to use each sales thread as a pseudo-vouch thread. Thirdly, it encourages people to ask for vouches on their sale threads to bump them up which is borderline unethical too.

 

Support, if people want to see your vouches link your vouch thread, this is also very obnoxious. 100% support

 

Support, this currently opens up opportunities to fake quote vouches.
But then again, quoting a few larger vouches is a definite selling point for many, would be tough to find a cut off point.

I think there should be a limit on how many you can put on your selling thread, People work hard to gain their rep.

I think it if you have a maximum of 10, people will be able to clearly show you have sold accounts successfully.

Also, there should be a rule saying they can only put vouches on what relates to what they are selling.

(Example) You are selling an account and you put vouches on that selling thread, you should only be allowed to put the ones you have that has dealt with selling accounts.

 

All of you don't seem to realize the issue here is the mass notification, not the fact that his vouches are merely displayed on a fucking sales thread? Easy fix is to prevent notification flood is by preventing normal users from sending an alert to 5+ others via quotes in a single post.

Half way support. I'd like to see this suggestion implemented where we are not allowed to quote vouches if they are totally irrelevant to the thread/topic.

If I'm to take the example you've given in your post, this guy is selling a g mauler. I won't go through all of the vouches he stated but the first I came across is a gold sale vouch of 12m. This is out of the topic and shouldn't be allowed because if you are to quote all of your gold sales vouches, it will indeed cause flood problems. Ideally, the only vouches he'd be allowed to quote are previous sales of RS accounts.

tl;dr : Make it against the rules to quote vouches in your thread if they are irrelevant to what you are offering in the said thread.

 

I believe the "very obnoxious" covered the mass notifications. How is this having a "bad opinion", sorry for not wanting to spammed when someone you've vouched for in the past is now quoting it again.

 

I believe when you quote a post, there should be a tick box to send a notification or not. If they choose to tick that box for situations like this, it would warrant an infraction.

A more moderate implementation of your suggestion like Zero's would be for the best. For example, if you're running a quest service, you might want to highlight some of the larger orders you've completed on other versions of the game.
