Looking for a good screen recorder.

What is a good screen recorder I can find online for recording pking etc.? I would prefer one that would also let me edit the clips and make a movie. I don't mind paying a little.

Fraps with windows movie maker, Fraps will record any games and windows movie maker will let you edit, probably a better editing software though

    Camtasia is great.
It's roughly $100 and is compatible with mac.
If you know how to torrent, I would go ahead and do that. Then you wouldn't have to pay for it.

I would recommend you use Camtasia, however it is a tad pricey if you plan on using the retail version.

I've always used FRAPS + Sony Vegas. Both are compatible with Macs, I believe. FRAPS is the best screen recording softwhere out there imo, and not only just because I use it. I've used things like Hypercam, Camtasia, etc and I find that FRAPS records in the best quality and is the easiest to use. It's super easy to do voice overs and all that kind of stuff.

For editing, Sony Vegas and After Effects (for the advanced stuff) are the only two you should really consider. Top of the line, and easily torrent-able.

Sony Vegas and After Effects are both very advanced programs, aimed mostly at professional users. Camtasia allows you to do simple effects, transitions, voiceovers and timeline changes easily, it honestly depends on your level of skill.

Camtasia is free if you use a torrent which is easy to look-up on youtube, don't know why it's so hard to use with sony vegas, didn't work for me.

Honestly I wouldn't classify Vegas as super advanced. After Effects I can easily see where you're coming from, but with Vegas all it took was watching a couple of tutorials on youtube and I started doing some okay editing with it.. but to each his own I 'spose.

Looking for a good screen recorder.

Yea, I use Camtasia+sony vegas pro for all my video'ing needs. And not just runescape videos either. I've made ALOT of school projects and videos for other people using sony vegas, tbh it's a good program to learn how to use because it comes in handy more times than you would think, not many people are good at editing.

I've never used FRAPS so I can't say I like camtasia more, BUT i've never had any problems with camtasia, as far as I can tell it looks just like runescape looks when I play it so I'd say that's pretty good quality. LOL

Camtasia or HyperCam would be your best bet for Cam Recorders.

Sony Vegas Pro includes a rather basic video editing function, remember it was primarily designed to edit sound rather than clips. However given that you'd only like to edit RS clips, It would trump After Effects only because Vegas is very simple to use.
