Make calls with Google voice

Recently applied for a job and got an email back asking for my phone number. Problem is my phone service got shut off for not paying the bill.

Trying to set up google voice so I can answer a quick Phone call but the voice calls doesn't seem to be working for me..text messages work fine. Anyone have an idea?
