How to do well in school.

------------------Part one - In-class work-----------------
Have you ever been the student that can't pay attention, get's bored easily, and never can stay on track on your class work?

Well here are some tips on what you can do.

Can't pay attention?
​

1. Only pay attention during instructions or anything that involves the knowledge of what you are about to do. As long as you know what you're doing, you will be fine. This is what I do, I only pay attention when needed to and you will still be able to learn and get your work done.

2. Another thing people do tend to do, is day dream. I day dream alot in class, but, when day dreaming, remember to always be aware of whats going on around you, the teacher will most likley call on you if (s)he see's you drifting off, so make sure when you day dream, your ears are open!

3. Always, Always, Always read the direction before starting your work, the reason why alot of work is frustrating, is because people rarely read the directions.

4. Get some sleep, if you want to be able to stay on track, get some sleep the night before school, always, if you have no work, but have study halls, take the time to take a nap instead of throwing pencils across the room or writing notes to people. I sleep in my 6 - 7th period study hall and when I wake up to go to math, I am all refreshed.

5. Don't work on an empty stomach, eat breakfast before school and during school, eat lunch, you be able to work a whole lot better with a full stomach, so you won't be thinking about getting home and eating.

6. If the work you are doing in class is silent, a thing I like to do while working, is sing songs in my head. (NOT OUT LOUD) This lets me work, while having something to listen to, if your school doesn't allow iPod's or MP3 players.

Homework

Can't work without distraction?

1. If the homework is math, I would suggest working in a quiet area. Math is probably the hardest subject for most people in school, seeing as how it takes alot of thought and work. Distractions such as the TV or Computer make it even more difficult to do the work.

2. English. English is one of those subjects that is easy, but most people don't understand what is going on. Such as poems, novels, or short storys. Alot of the time, your teacher will ask you on the homework what the author means by so and so, all you have to do, is take out little by little, put it in your mind, and think about it. You will eventually find an answer, but hey, usually, your teacher doesn't mind if you're wrong.

3. Science, Social, Health - All usually give easy assignments such as fill in the blank, definition's, or matching. These can be done in little amounts of time and are easy. No need to explain much here. If you have trouble, use wikipedia or google.

4. Grab a snack. Don't try to do your homework on an empty stomach, I would suggest hanging out with friend from whenever you get home to around dinner time, then eat, then do your homework. If you don't usually eat dinner, grab a snack. (Chips, Water, Cookies)

5. Once again, read all directions! They always give clues, hints as to what you're doing.

Electives​

Simple classes.
​

1. For art, Physical Education, photography, computer design or any other electives, your teacher will rarely give homework and assign easy classwork or projects. So just pay attenion during directions, and do what you can do. Teacher can't grade you based on how well your project is, but only based on how much effort you put forward, so just try your hardest, and you will pass.
Simple!
