Judgement in the Internet Music World

Hey! Just wondering, I don't like a lot of rap because of it's negative content, but yet a few rap songs I legitamately like. Then, I also like a few songs because of their musical quality and don't even pay attention to the lyrics. Recently a friend who is a "brony" showed me "Discord" because it had a Homestuck artwork thing or something. I am not a brony but I really like the song. Do you think people on the internet would judge me for that if I, say, posted a vid or sheet music or something like that? I compose, arrange, and critique music a lot. There are other cases not pertaining to Bronies at all where I feel similar caution. This might be in the wrong section so sorry if it is. I just thought it would be an interesting discussion.

 

Not sure how best to tackle this question but I would say the most important thing is to be yourself and act based on your own happiness not the sole perception of others.

Music is something that, aside from a few generally agreed areas of criteria, is completely falling to opinion and what your brain likes the best. Do you and enjoy the music you enjoy and if this leads you to a creative outlet through your music critique and classical tastes, embrace it.

The internet is made up of people so just like the real world, people will do what they do and judge. However, try to take it with a grain of salt and allow negative critique to make you stronger and don't let silly internet trolls bother you.

Why would you give a damn about being judged through the internet, or at all for that matter? Listen to what you want because you like it and because you want to.

Also, not all rap music has negative content
