Hair lengthening

Look top-to-bottom. 2 stage process, didn't take long, used GIMP. Turned out better than I thought it would, though it isn't anything special. Rating out of 10?

I used the layering feature in GIMP, copy-pasted bits of hair from the original, and sharpened, blurred and smudged different parts.

I think I spoiled it because I changed the brightness/contrast at some point, meaning there are some other differences apart from the hair.

Nope, I just edited it bit by bit making sure it looked right every time I added something.

Wouldn't the clone brush be a bit more suited for this type of operation ?
