Can anyone solve this? HOW SMART ARE YOU?

Okay, there are 4 people captured by a terrorist. 2 of them have a white hat, and the other 2 has black(each one of them are aware there are 2 white and 2 black hats)
Their mission is to guess their own color.
One of them are able too.
YOUR mission is to figure out which one.

They are dug down, they are only allowed to look forward, and they are not allowed to speak to eachother.
Only 1 is allowed to guess his color, if he guesses incorrectly everyone dies. if he guesses right the terrorist sets everyone free (anyone of them can guess, however only 1 is able to actually figure out his own color)
There is a wall between A and the rest.
Only one of A,B,C,D are capable of figuring out his color.
Pro tip here would be to think 1 step at a time and imagine the scenario for yourself. Good luck

Its a tough one indeed, and I got so pissed once I figured it out myself. I felt somewhat stupid for not realizing it earlier. I’ll give you a hint. Imagine the hats being sorted different, in a way D could see 2 whites or 2 blacks. What would he do then?

Okay so...

if both the people in front of D were the same color, he'd say it and boom it'd be over, but since they're not he won't say anything because he is not sure. So that tells C that him and B are different colors, right? So whatever color B is, C is the opposite. Tbh I didn't even realize I was on the right track when I asked my question, that's some luck
