    Man steals 4.7B RSGP with Gun Threat, in the news.
    It's always fun to see Runescape in the news for stuff like this.

    The article states that a Runescaper threatens another player with a gun (albeit BB) and steals 4.7B RSGP. If convicted, he could be charged with second-degree robbery and grand larceny... something $20,000 bail, and possibly 15 years in prison.

    A fairly pithy joke in the article's comments stated that the man should have had 99 Thieving. ;)

    Yeah, that's almost right.

    As for what happened, the robber is a total idiot, throwing his life away for something that doesn't physically exist. As far as I know the victim is fine now and wasn't harmed in any way.

    It is true though, RSGP is quickly turning into real life money. The Squeal of Fortune is essentially online gambling for minors.

    Guys it's just the rough and tumble world of Runescape. This stuff happens daily when people want those magic coins.

    If it is true and the guy who was sent to get the money from the robber said that they shouldn't have done it, but the seller insisted that is a pretty stupid move. Always go with your gut instinct.


    He just didn't have the gloves of silence he needed.



    Also this case may set an interesting precedence in the US justice system concerning the value of virtual currencies.
