    VPS Pricing Question

    Hey guys,

I just bought a dedicated server Quad Core processor, SSD drives with 16 GB of RAM. I am currently setting it up right now. I am selling VPS pre-installed with NeXus Bot Client on it. In addition, I am optimizing them to run Java/botting very nicely.

What prices would you pay for 1 GB of RAM?

In addition, please PM me if you are interested in buying VPS for your botting solutions.

    Thank you for your input.

    $5 maybe.

Where did you buy this quad core processor?

If you want honest pricing, you need to include more info: what Operating System (presumably a *nix variant, but you never know), are users restricted to a certain amount of bandwidth, are you allowing burstable RAM, etc.

    VPS Pricing Question

There is no way it is going to be $5 per 1GB RAM as it's SSD (Solid State Drive) which are very expensive in the market. I was expecting something like $15-$18 as I don't want to put so much load on the servers to break even with my costs and I can provide you good quality in good price. What do you think about $15-$18 per 1GB RAM? In addition, it is with 20 GB SSD space.

We will be using XEN so everything would be guaranteed resources, we'll be using Core i5 with SolusVM so we can load any ISO for you and you can have any OS you wish to have. We'll be giving 1000GB bandwidth per 1GB RAM. And, yes, we are allowing burstable RAM.

That seems a bit expensive, trusted companies like photonvps offer that for around that price.

But good luck with your vps service.

Thank you. :) Good luck to you as well. In addition, I would like to provide great features WITHOUT overselling, which is why the pricing, as I imagine it to be, a bit more expensive.

$15-$18 per 1GB RAM as long as you don't oversell is a very reasonable price.

On XEN virtualization, we cannot oversell and that is why XEN is usually more expensive in other hosts then their OpenVZ plans as they are overselling.

As others have said, this seems a bit expensive when there are plenty of other start-ups that sell similar packages for less. TBH, features like SSD don't mean too much for botting unless you're trying to run swap RAM with the hard drive, which doesn't seem like a good option (or is there something I don't know?)

    Regardless, good luck.

15-18 is a bit high when you have big name companies like photon and seershost offering almost the same.

I don't know if you can answer this without giving too much of your business away, but where are you getting the server from?

$15 is way too much. And why SSD on botting vps? There is no point. Unless its swap RAM, but it would be better with slower hdd but more ram. Well, my current vps gives 1gb ram for $12 so I doubt I will pay more. $10 would be a good price that would keep getting you clients.

I'm thinking of selling for roughly $15, no more, no less per RAM. I would like to hear from a few more people regarding this though.

I don't think many people would trust you with having access to their accounts...

You can get 1gb of ram for 13 or less depending on how long you use it for with seerhost.

Also, you're the new guy on the block, you have to start lower to gain a reputation and new users.

Unfortunately hosting companies that oversell make it harder for legit companies to host profitable businesses.

That's true. Thank you for your input. One of the reasons why I am starting this is because I once had SeerHost as well and performance was absolutely bull. I ran two bots on 2GB RAM and it was lagging completely, which I believe it is safe to conclude that they oversell. I will define "lag" -- rebooting the VPS takes ages to do, not to mention after you type in the username or password, the loading period after took me a good 30 minutes. I brought this up with their support and they were unable to fix the horrible performance. That's when I knew to immediately cancel and start selling VPS due to the high demand, at lower prices.

And with PhotonVPS, I just know their prices are very high and people have realized they oversell as well. But, whatever floats your boat, I guess.

There has never been an issue that we weren't able to fix. If you thought there was poor performance you probably were just experiencing the slow refresh rate for the VNC Viewer. You should judge the performance of your VPS by the xp/hr gains of the bot, not how it "looks." There is also the possibility that you weren't following optimization techniques such as running all scripts in a single client, using low settings, and tuning client settings (depends on the client you use).

Rebooting a Seerhost VPS takes 30 seconds or less so I'm not sure where you're coming from there. There also shouldn't be any waiting time after logging in so I'm guessing that's a problem on your side.

It is possible to oversell with Xen, it's called ballooning. You're automatically overselling your CPU because a single quad core is not enough for 16GB RAM. We use 2 very high quality xeon quad cores for 24GB and on some systems just 16GB. RAM is not the only factor, and is certainly not the most important.

I can assure you that Seerhost doesn't oversell at all- we have plenty of servers and are constantly expanding. Everyone would know if we oversold as it's quite obvious with botting (especially when everyone is botting).

Good luck with your project! Competition is always good, but beware- there's a lot of it in this market ;)
