@eXigasm How many accounts you doing this with? and why isnt it that smooth? Please explain and how did you make the accounts

 

I used to do it with 5 but wasn't worth the time imo because in theory it's great. But the items don't always buy and sell smooth like you would like and even though there is a large amount of these items going through the GE daily due to bots they don't always instant buy. Like feathers, air runes, fire runes, vials all that stuff you will not be able to profit because it's just won't buy. Give it a shot yourself and you will see what I mean.

 

I found great success with maple and willow logs, as well as feathers or essence in my third slot.

 

@eXigasm I was interested in transferring this method to do with 10 mems accs with most traded items instead. Maybe 100M per account. Think that wud be more logical?

 

Logs do work but you can only buy so many as there isn't as many of these as there is feathers and runes but you won't buy the max amount every time it just doesn't work that well once you hit so many accounts.

Test it with 2-3 accounts. Swamp tar is decent and flax is decent but kind of the same situation as logs.

 

That is a ton of effort I feel like.. Could be stacked while doing other things I suppose so its definitely for some people.

At some point there has to be a diminished return on this. If you do this on 50 accounts sure, you aren't going to have any market effect on one specific item, but imagine adding 500 accounts just to do an item like fire runes. If you can buy 120k fire runes daily per 500 accounts you would single handedly crater the market since you would be buying 60m fire runes a day in a market that hovers around only TRADING 120-150m of them a day. Doing this on a smaller level would be alright for the minimal amount of effort exerted, but from an endless possibility standpoint at some point, you will either completely destroy that item, or won't be able to buy or sell all of your set item(s) in the expected time period.

 

You wouldnt put 500 accounts on one item, as there are many items to choose from with -1 thru +1 margins.

 

There are currently only 21 items in osrs that are being traded in volumes of 10m+ a day. Out of these 21 items, only 9 of them are a +1 -1 margin. I just think that is unrealistic to say that there are endless possibilities with so few items and as low market volume. As stated before the idea on a smaller scale is viable, but with the utilization of 6 ge slots on a massive amount of accounts would cause a market crash for those particular items. The theory behind the idea is smart, but just think what would happen if just 200 accounts bought the maple log limit every 4 hours. It would be 90k logs per account which would amount to 18m logs a day when only 14m are traded a day. There is not enough of the item in the game to be able to meet the 4-hour limits on all of the accounts, therefore diminishing your return.

 

This is a solid idea. I was never much of a mercher but this makes me want to try. Perfect for someone with minimal time to play now a days!

 

Very interesting set up.

I mass created a lot of accounts in the past, and may try this method out. Seems like there wouldn't be much to lose.
