Am I Heading In The Right Direction?

    For a hard erection?

    No really,

I'm trying to build a super budget PC capable of raping RS, emphasis placed on super budget. Also for general Facebook, email checking, MSN, all those goodies.

Here's some parts I put together that seems pretty cheap, with decent capabilities. The question is, what do you think? And will they work together? (all these damn parts are from different companies).

    The RAM: $38.99
    G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231422

Updated RAM: $41.99 (Is surely compatible with Mobo)
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL

    Processor (CPU + GPU): $99.99
    AMD A8-3850 Llano 2.9GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6550D AD3850WNZ43GX - OEM

    Updated Processor: $119.99
    AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

    Motherboard: $59.99
BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

    Total Money: Only $294
    Updated Money: Only $314

But like I said I need a 1337 pro to get me advice on this, also I don't know about the power supply, or what hardrive to get.

A few quick things at first glance:

Yeah add a PSU like you said.
You don't need 8gb of ram.
You don't need a video card with that mobo, it has onboard graphics.
You're going to need a harddrive of some sort as well.

Am I Heading In The Right Direction?

Yes of course, I needed to know what kind.
For under $40 bucks it seems good to me, the computer I'm currently using only has 1GB.
Doesn't it combine? I realize that yeah.
    Yep.

Your Mobo and CPU are not compatible, they have to have the same socket type. In your case, the mobo is AM3.
I would also suggest you using an old case to save money to upgrade other parts. That $60 would help with a new mobo/CPU setup.
Your RAM is fine, just focus on a CPU/Motherboard then work around that.

No time to post parts atm, I will come back with some ideas.

Am I Heading In The Right Direction?

I see. I found this processor which runs on a AM3 socket, and the reviews seem to be nothing but good news: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

If I got this build, would it run runescape fine and be able to handle computing tasks (MSN, FB, maybe cheesy online games)? With room to upgrade the graphics card? I'm aware the card pretty shitty, but seems to be efficient for the price. As for the case I've got an old old one, the computer in it has 256MB of ram, single core processor etc. Do you think that'll work? I would love your answer.

Edit: PSU and hardrive advice appreciated too!

I looked into that new processor vs the i3 and the AMD is good for what you will be doing. It will run Runescape fine and allow you to do everything that you want to be able to do.

I asked about the other case because if you are not going to be using it anymore, you should take all of the pc components out (leaving the fans) and place the new parts in it to save you from buying a new one. You might be able to use the same power supply from the old pc. If it is below 330w I would look for one on newegg with around 400w to leave you some room to upgrade.

Alright I'll look into that. About the mobo, do you have any reccomendations for me? There seems to be quite a different variety of them, I need your advice on this one. Also I'm looking at the free 2 day shipping, have you had that at all? I wouldn't mind that. Anything at all on the hard drive? I really appreciate your help.
