Bot Nuke of 2012

Does anybody remember when Jagex did the bot nuke of 2012?

I was scared because I botted an account almost 100% of the time to lvl 106. I did quests and pking for real, everything else was a test to see how far I could push botting.

It's 2017, and I can still login to my account. Never even got a temporary ban.

Anybody else experience anything like this?

 

I think JaGeX is currently confident enough on their Bot Detection system that they wont be doing a bot nuke in RS3.

 

yeah I doubt there will be a bot nuke in rs3 or even 07

 

nothin they just made the screen change every few mins, fukin up bots cuz they cant see shit (lol)

 

i botted close to every 99 and the bot nuke didnt catch me haha

the bot nuke in 2012 was due a botting client developer gave jagex all the account names/email who were botting if i'm correct. there wont be another nuke unless a botting client developer releases the account names again. its pretty much automatic for now

 

There were "bot hunts" around that time (or maybe a year earlier) where mods would go with a big group to known botting places and wreak havoc. I think it was the bot nuke that got me. I was running 120 accounts through sorc garden at the time collecting herbs lol.

 

Do you have any credible sources for this? I do not remember reading anything about a botting client developer giving botters' account information.

I was actually falsely banned for botting on my main during that time when botany bay was released. My mate also got banned for no reason.

Took some hours for jagex to realize system wasn't working properly and we were unbanned. They refunded me with like 10 sof spins which was quite terrible compensation for that.

 

So he basically gave them the names first, expecting some sort of payment and they mugged him off. Serves him right, the snake.

 

HAhahaha as a kid i remember when they first starting banning bots you guys have no idea how easy it used to be

I feel you. I got banned shortly after Divination was released. My ban was only two weeks, which was odd. They reset my div level to 1 aswell, and at no point did I bot. The two week thing made me feel they weren't even sure I did anything.

 

3 accounts i were botting just got their xp halved in some stats..

 

Lost my level 113 main lol. still remember it man i only botted something like 15-50 hunter

 

Yeah I remember this! Was so scared to bot ever again lol but nothing actually happened to any of my accounts from it, wasn't until like 2 years ago that I got banned but that was for running scripts for 20 hours a day lol.
