Looking to buy a new computer.

I want to punch everyone in the nuts who thinks building a computer is going to be a better idea for him.
It would be better for him, but he doesn't want to so thats his choice.

I'll look around on Newegg for you Pen. (:

Pen my friend, build your own system. If you want a gaming computer that'll last a while, and your buying a pre-built system, you'll end up paying at least twice as much as you'd pay by buying the parts separately.

This is my new build. All these parts are in my basement, waiting to be put together. (This will run you well over a thousand dollars, but if I wanted a computer with these same specs pre- built, I would have spent at least an extra thousand if not more)

That playlist is 44 videos long, but the "build your own computer" section of it is only the first 22. The series is incredibly detailed and can make any computer illiterate person be able to do it themselves. Trust me Pen, you can do it yourself very easily, and you'll be able to either save a lot of money, or get much nicer parts than you had planned.

Hey Viper,

Your computer specs are almost the same as the computer I was looking at.

I added the price of the parts of your system (didn't count speakers, monitor, or your keyboard), and it came out to ~$1035. The computer that I am looking at comes with more RAM, keyboard, mouse, etc. How much did you pay for your parts? If it just costs around $100 more to buy a premade computer with the same specs, I'll probably go with the premade.

Buy parts separately, I done mine with having little knowledge about them. Just watch a few videos and read a few articles and make sure you were the anti-static wristband

I have to say, putting all of the parts together for the first time and then plugging everything in and having it turn on is one of the most satisfying feelings in the world.

Really, building your own computer is not difficult. Most of the parts are like 'legos' (assuming everything you buy is compatible with each other, which is pretty easy to ensure.) The only places where you can actually fuck something up badly is either the installation of the motherboard or the thermal paste (incorrectly / unapplied thermal paste = enjoy your new toaster.)
