Please do not spam or flame my thread.
Although I believe there are many good, well thought out privately owned servers out there, there’s also a surplus of unorganized, futile servers carelessly thrown together by noobs in order to get their name out there. The purpose of Private Servers is to stretch your imagination to its limits and create anything you desire. There are other reasons, of course, too. To me, there are a few factors in which I look for in a server. These factors include:
1. Originality
2. Organization
3. Dedication
As I observe and analyze these new servers which are quickly accumulating, I see no organization, whatsoever. Honestly, I won’t flame anyone’s server in particular, just as I don’t want you to flame my thread, but to me, something’s just don’t make sense; you don’t put two dungeons beside each other, randomly in front of a bank, and not expect them to interfere with each other. Petty mistake, but a mistake which wouldn’t be overlooked by professionals (aka-Jagex). I also see no originality, or nothing new, when I change to a new server. Since the beginning of Moparscape I don’t believe I’ve seen anything that’s really made me say, “Wow!†or “I would have never thought of that!†Players are looking for something new and interesting. Not something half done that can be played to it’s full extent on the real Runescape. However, dedication I am, as of late am becoming more impressed of, and has come a long way.
I am looking for someone, a person who is good at coding and designing a private server. Someone who is willing to invest time and work into it. I have personally designed and came up with new and exciting ideas, and looking for a person who will put these ideas into action. Credit will be given, of course, to who ever will take the role. Also a person who will willingly give an email address or SN to contact back and forth freely, exchanging ideas and generating the keys to our success. You would not be an employee, I do not own you, you will become a friend. You can treat me just as I treat you, but with respects. You will of course will be the Owner, along with I, and will be an Admin on the server, the same level as I.
What will make our server so unique is our dedication and willingness to take open suggestions and ideas. We will give our players censuses and polls, finding what’s best for our community, in order to make everyone happy. Anything from the name of our server to what our next update will be decided upon poll; what the majority believe.
I’m not having a hundred moderators running around on my unknown friend and I’s server, but I’m looking for other positions as well. These include Web-designers, graphic designers, etc. (These people will of course along with others be the Moderators).
And this server will be a 24/7 dedicated server once we get it up and running.
Please post if you think you may be interested or think you might know someone who will be interested. Please also feel obliged to post any ideas for the server or names (no names been decided yet).
Bottom Line: Our server's gonna be the shit.
