How to successfully appeal a mute?

OK I just got muted, for the first time. "This account has been temporarily muted as a result of spamming item scamming in game"

Apparantley the offense expires in july 2012. However when I log into the game, on attempting to talk it says "you have been temporarily muted for breaking a rule. You will be unmuted within 24 hours."

Also it says:
"Your account will be unmuted again in less than 1 day, or earlier if you submit a successful offence appeal." Does anyone know how to successfully appeal a mute? and also will my account be unmuted within 24 hours or will I be muted until July 2012?

 

When it says the offense is going to expire in July 2012, it means it will be on your record for a year, so if you get muted again the mute will be longer.

You're not muted for a year, only a day

Should I attempt to appeal or is that a bad idea? If so do you have any recommendations on what to say?

 

not worth it tbh, they lock your account for days

 

1 day isnt a big deal, I've never appealed a mute so I'd say just deal with it

 

Just say some random crap, sometimes it works.
