Making (Unf) Herblore Potions For Money​

Introduction:

Introduction to Herblore:


Herblore isn't ever considered a profitable skill since the amount of loss one obtains to get 99 in the skill is around 200-300 Million Gp. But if used in certain ways, it can make people very rich. Making (Unf) Potions is the best of these 'ways'.
The foundation of Herblore is based on Herbs; there are three main ways to obtain them.

- Farming: With the Farming skill one can obtain whichever herb they want to grow, if they have the required level and seed to grow it, ofcourse. However, this can be very time consuming, and the amount of time it'll take you to get enough Herbs to 99 Herblore could virtually get you ten 99's during such a period.

- Buying from Players: This is the fastest way to obtain Herbs but is obviously the most expensive. Unlike Farming, which only gets you Grimy Herbs, you can also get Clean Herbs from players.

- Killing NPC's: Killing NPC monsters and people is the most beneficial way to obtain herbs. One of the best things to kill for Herbs would be Chaos Druids which can get you an inventory of Herbs in a small period of time, judging by your Combat level.


Amount of Profit:

The amount of Profit you can gain from making (Unf) Potions can get you anywhere from about -900k profit p/h to +2.5m profit p/h.
However a huge disadvantage is that the amount of profit you gain completely depends on the price of the Herbs in the Grand Exchange so it all depends on when you decide to do it. When you get the time right, the profits are ASTOUNDING.


The Formula:

NOTE: PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND THAT THE PRICES USED BELOW MAY BE NOT UP-TO DATE. KWUARMS WILL BE USED AS AN EXAMPLE, ANY OTHER HERB MAY BE USED. Grimy Herbs may be used to maximize profit, however, they will need to be CLEANED.



NOTE: In these calculations prices of Clean Kwuarm and Vial of Water were assumed to be bought at Mid-price. Clean Kwuarms may even be bought at LOWEST price in the G.E, and Kwuarm Potions sold at Highest. This can make your profit double/triple the amount of what it was when items were bought at Mid-price. Though keep in mind that to do so may require offers to be left over-night or maybe even over a span of two days.


Price of (Unf) Potion - (Price of Clean/Grimy Herb + Price of Vial of Water)
= Profit per potion.

Price of Kwuarm Potion - (Price of Clean Herb + Price of Vial of Water)
= Profit per Kwuarm potion.

4,025 - ( 3,728 + 42 )
= 339 GP profit per Kwuarm Potion.

As one can make 3,000 Unfinished potions every hour the amount of profit gained from Kwuarm Potions per hour, at the moment, is:

339 x 3000
= 1,017,000 GP PER HOUR (With Grimy Herbs you can get more profit.)

And if Clean Kwuarms were bought at minimum, and Kwuarm potions sold at highest:

Profit per Kwuarm Potions: 456 GP
Profit per hour:

971 x 3000:
= 1,368,000 GP

The ones in Bold and underlined are the most Profitable
Most profitable Unfinished potion(s) to make: (LAST UPDATED 17TH October).

Herblore levels 1-30:

Level 12: Tarromin Potions:
897 - (707 + 42) = 148 GP

Level 22: Harralander Potions:
842 - (631 + 42) = 169 GP

Level 30: Ranarr Potions:
6,398 - (6,168 + 42) = 188 GP

Herblore levels 31-50:

Level 45: Irit Potions:
2,736 - (2,534 + 42) = 160 GP

Level 50: Avantoe Potions:
5,180- (4,919 + 42) = 219 GP

Herblore levels 51-99:

Level 55: Kwuarm Potions:
4,025 - ( 3,728 + 42 ) = 339 GP

Level 63: Snapdragon Potions:
12,500 - (12,600 + 42) = -142 GP <-- If you try these. I'll KILL YOU.

Level 66: Cadantine Potions:
2,294 - (1,992 + 42) = 260 GP

Level 69: Lantadyme Potions:
8,407 - (7,970 +42) = 395 GP

Level 72: Dwarf Weed Potions:
6,816 - (6,458 + 42) = 316 GP

Please understand that I am not capable of updating prices every time there's a Grand Exchange update. I will, however, try to update them as frequently as possible. Any help with the price updates, will be greatly appreciated and I'll add you to the final credits.


The Requirements and The Method:

Requirements:

- Druidic Ritual Quest: It'll take around 10-15 minutes.

- 63 Herblore is recommended otherwise whatever Herblore level you need to clean the Herb you're planning to use is fine. Tarromin(Level 12 required) can get you a good 600k profit as well, based on current price differences.

- You can make 3K! Unfinished Potions per hour. Which means you'll need just as many Vials of Water. Get a good stock of them from the G.E.
Herbs are obviously required. You could get Grimy herbs but cleaning them will take some time.

- You must have enough money to buy several thousand of the Herbs you're planning to use and Vials of Water. The Profit will make up for it, ofcourse.

The Method:

We'll be using Kwuarm's as an example. NOTE THAT ANY HERB MAY BE USED. MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T GIVE YOU A LOSS BY USING THE CALCULATIONS GIVEN IN THE ABOVE POST.

Obtain Herbs.

- First Method: Buy Clean Kwuarms from the G.E or Players.
- Second Method: Buy Grimy Kwuarms from the G.E and clean to maximize profit.

Obtain Vials of Water.

- First Method: Buy Vials of Water from Players or G.E
- Second Merthod: Buy Vilas of Water from NPC's

East Ardougne General Store.
Jossik in the Lighthouse(North of Barbarian Assault; Horror From the Deep Quest required)
Sigmund the Merchant(Relekka; Fremmenik Trials Quest required)
Shilo General Store(Shilo Fishing Village; Shilo Village Quest needs to be started)

- Third Method: Use Vials on water source(I.E (Geyser titan/fountain). This is HIGHLY unrecommended.

Withdraw 14 Kwuarms and 14 Vials of Water.

Use on each other and deposit in bank.

Vial of Water + Clean Kwuarm = Kwuarm Potion.

Repeat.

Sell and go have a money-burnin' party.


The Locations:

- Soul wars bank.

- Duel Arena bank.

- Castle Wars bank.

- Lumbridge dungeon bank.

- Or Grand Exchange works fine if you want to "CAMP" and earn money. You could stay there for years.

Does this grant the player any xp?

 

I have done this before, not very steady but if you keep watching the G.E. prices you can do this effectively and make some good money.

Also related to herby, you can buy potions (3) and decant them to (4) using the guy at the G.E. Most people know this method already though.

you can make 1k pots every 20 mins
3k pots an hour
3,000*1m=3m rsgp/hr
