    Looking for a computer upgrade!

I'm a HUGE newbie to the world of computers.
At most I know that my graphics card is better than that of a 2010 computer.
Knowing this, I'm putting a bunch of pictures in hopes that I'll get the one with
    my specs in it.

I'm looking for a upgrade of any kind between 100-250 USD Dollars.
Let me know what thingy majig I need to upgrade and a link please :)
I don't know anything about building a computer myself, so I may need some help with that too :)
    Thanks a bunch!

Only thing we can really tell from those two pictures is your graphics card, CPU, and RAM.

Your Graphics card is alright, the CPU is alright, and 8GB of RAM should be plenty, unless you plan on hardcore botting, then I'd upgrade to 16GB.

What were you wanting to upgrade? The board, power supply, etc.

    Looking for a computer upgrade!

I was looking for a processor upgrade.
My friends get 400+ FPS on some games, when I'm running 90 on Call of Duty 4- a 2006 game.
I don't exactly know if it's the processor that needs upgrading, but I upgraded the GFX card just last year, so I don't know if I should get a new one until it's out-modded.

Don't go SLI, honestly just go for a higher end card like a 570 or possibly even something out of the 600 series if you wanted, but I personally would rather upgrade than go for a 2nd GPU. To be honest what you have now is pretty good, I have the same as you and there's no complaints here.

As for everything else, your processor is fine as is your RAM. If you wanted to do some serious botting then consider 12GB or possibly even 16GB.

I understood maybe 50% of just the bottom half of that.
I'm looking for more of a processor upgrade or something, not the GFX card.

i7 860 is still one of the best mid range processors (still use one here). Just give it an overclock if possible on your bios. Mine's at 3.8ghz all the time. Google it.

this is what i dont understand..why does he wanna change the cpu.

@OP, if your looking for more frames then get a new video card. your getting 90 frames and you want more? do you have a 120hz monitor or something? what video card does your friend have? the 560 ti is a budget card..maybe he has something of more value and performance. i myself have a 7970, and if i dont use vsync i get insane fps on cod 4.

btw my friend has the same cpu as you, 12 gigs of ram and a 590, and he gets more frames than me on certain games because the 590 still kicks ass

Not everyone is a master of technology like you man, he doesnt know that the videocard will give him better frame rates, he said a few times he doesnt know anything about computers.
To the op, your cpu and ram are both very good, upgrading neither will give you noticeable frame rate differences. In modern games they are usually more gpu heavy than cpu heavy. Your best bet is to go with the best gpu in your price range. The one other upgrade that may get you a few fps extra would be a ssd.

Your PC will get ez 250 in COD4.

    Type this into console(Press ~ for console :p) /com_maxfps 250

Youur FPS is currently capped at 90 on COD4. :)
    I run an i7 860 & 6870 and I get 250 constant in Promod(max it allows) and 333 in stock.

The only problem with a processor upgrade for you is your computer is socket 1156, which they dont use anymore.

You would need to upgrade your motherboard to upgrade your CPU, and both of those together get costly.
