    Combat XP via Slayer

From my past experiences it seems like i get combat xp at a much slower rate when doing slayer. I'm not sure as to why, does anyone have an explanation? Or is this not even true at all? I recently created a brand new account and am wanting to max out melee, but I want to do it in a decent amount of time. And since I want to get 99 slayer eventually, it seems like it would be a waste not to go ahead and do it. Any got any tips or anything as well? Thanks!

Use the highest stat boosting prayers you can, use d def and rapier for most tasks. Use extremes if you have them, if not supers.

Often slayer monsters aren't powertraining monsters so it's not surprising that it's slower. If you want the tasks to go faster, use a cannon for tasks that you can.

people train combat away from slayer because there are spots in game that allow users to gain xp much faster than while slaying. with that being said, you cannot choose your tasks (you can cancel them) so you won't get xp as fast. but i recommend what was said above, use all you can to make up such as pots, best equipment you can buy..etc.

Well usually the monsters you are assigned from Slayer Masters are not always the best for training. Although depending on the task and your gear it is possible to get even better EXP rates. With a Slayer Helmet or Black Mask your hits are increased resulting in you getting more exp. On another note, most people do slayer so they get more variety of drops and scenery so they do not get bored being at the same place. I personally like Slayer, good skill to train if you are bored.

You end up banking more/returning to slayer master etc while doing slayer, and so your xp/hr goes down accordingly.
