I do not plan on ever actually making more graphics because this alone took me 2 hours..
Anyways, first thing I have ever made, I didn't use any guides.. How does it look?

Nicely done. Did you do this in Photoshop? If so, You can remove the white areas by saving for web as png with transparency on. PM me if you want help. I wont bother cnc much if youre not going to practice.

Good job for your first time :)

Ah I see it now. I dont know much about Illustrator either.

If you happen to do gfx again in the future I suggest photoshop. You could remake this in no time with layer styles.

    I removed the white

What are you talking about? The best software for 2D art is illustrator, it's not because you don't know how to work with a certain software that you have to suggest people the wrong thing, I can remake this in illustrator within a minute aswell, it's a lot more efficient than photoshop for this kind of work. Since illustrator works with vectors, this is the software to go for 2D art, posters, typography, etc, etc. However if you want to make Signatures for forums etc with the fancy effects or image editing, the way to go is photoshop.

@Botin, as your first piece of art this is allright! However try to avoid using strokes around your text, since that is outdated and doesn't look good. Also try to keep your proportions normal size, don't oversize them like the skype logo you oversized. Using a contrasting color can also be very helpfull to get the attention of people looking at your design. Keep working in both illustrator and photoshop, if you want to be designing in the future! If it's just a hobby, than just stick with photoshop.

Since you said you're not going to continue graphic designing, I guess there's no point to give you criticism, but that's actually pretty good for your first try. Better than what I could make when I started.

    Good job.

What are you talking about? I never said he shouldnt use AI. I simply suggested PS as I can offer advice in it. Illustrator, I find, is less versatile than PS. Odds are you wont need vector if youre designing for web, since you probably wont have to do much resizing. ;)

it's clean so it looks good, for a first it's really good. i would take the dotted lines out because it makes it look off, overall great work

If you're designing for web, it's logical that you make the needed icons in illustrator, and if he is ever going to do logodesign, there is no other software that you can use besides illustrator, since logo's need to be resized all the time.

What are you talking about? Illustrator isnt the only vector program.

But it is logical he should design logos in vector, Ill give you that one. Although you can convert to vector pretty easily.

What isnt logical is this argument- The first thing he said is he wont be making more lol... But im enjoying debating.

lol'd, it's funny how true that is

I mean, I still liked stroked text, but it's definitely "out of style"

It looks good for your first ever piece of work.
I'm personally not a fan of the title font.
