Buying an account and having it disabled by Jagex within 24hrs

Hi all,

Recently bought an account from a trusted account seller. Within a day of purchase the account was disabled due to Jagex suspecting the account was stolen.

Seller has been very responsive and assisted with providing recovery details, however Jagex rejected my recovery attempt reason being the account does not belong to me. The seller is now trying to recover the account from Jagex. I do believe even if the seller recovers the account it will just get locked the second I jump back into it as Jagex already has my IP and details linked to the character.

In this case I don't think the seller will accept a refund due to TOS, and Sythe rules also dictates refund is only applicable if the seller is unable to recover within 30 days.

Given the above situation, what would be the suggested strategy / workaround to play on the account? Am I stuck with a "bricked" account? Would playing on a VPN help?

Just don’t buy accs dude. What makes you think the seller won’t recover it later? Ive seen mods rage quiting and recovering accs, create your own and you won’t have to worry.

 

This isn't gonna exactly answer your question, but I believe it'll be your best course of action:

If the seller is high rep and trusted they should have no problem refunding in full if you're having significant issues. Especially if you just bought it

The smartest move you can do is create a fresh account, play on it passively for 2 weeks, then have a service provider level your account with all the money you were going to put into buying an account.

This protects you from the random hits from not having a matching home IP and also makes your account unrecoverable

 

I just had a similar situation, after 24 hrs acc was locked, he sent a recovery and it was unlocked with 30 hrs, he told me to make it a jagex account so i did, 1 week later the jagex account got ''sorry your account has been disabled'', we then spent 2 weeks waiting on a reply from jagex just to be asked for ''more info'', so i asked for a refund and i was given it, But the seller was quite sus about where the account originated from/Not wanting to pay me till the account was confirmed to have the items still, then the next day paying me without confirming.. so i think the OO fucked him over
Id suggest asking for a refund, i was worried about logging back in after getting the same reply from jagex that u did saying i wasnt the OO

Thanks for letting me know your experience. The seller is high rep, however its been over 2 weeks and seller has advised jagex are still yet to get back. Its pretty sus, ive given him until this week to sort it out before escalating to forums, as typically it doesn't take jagex more than 7 working days to respond.

Hi, This always happens when you buy an account that was registered with another IP. To solve this problem, it's more feasible to send an account created with your IP to be leveled from scratch than to buy an account as you mentioned. It's worth noting that if you check the skills of the account that was blocked and they are visible, obviously the seller recovered it. I would invite you to request a refund. Regards, friend.
