Do you Eavesdrop on people?

Me and my friends were at a bar we got a little buzzed from some beers and started talking about time travel and Einstein theory of relativity and paradoxes all that junk well all of sudden 20 mins later the entire bar has somehow made there way into our conversation so I wonder how many of you eavesdrop and how often do you do it.

 

Hah - I attempt to avoid it, unless someone is talking behind my back then I pretend I'm doing something, but still opening my ears to hear. I guess at a bar you hear other people's conversations often and they interest you, people tend to butt in. I guess it's human nature to hear what people are talking about, especially if two friends are whispering - you feel left out if you don't hear them. I don't know, its late I don't really know what I'm saying.

 

Eavesdropping is one of those things you try not to do, and you say you don't, but everyone does.

 

If you're not occupied and there are people around you, it's impossible to avoid.

 

Depends what you mean by eavesdropping. If you mean leaning my head against the wall to hear, then no. If it's just hearing what other people are saying next to me, then I guess. It's kind of inevitable to not hear though.

 

It's a pretty natural thing in a close public setting do I do it on purpose no. But does it happen? Yes.

 

I naturally just listen to other people. Oh well.

 

It's a curse.. I can't help but to hear multiple conversations all at once.

 

I'm actually the opposite. I absolutely despise listening to other people's conversations. It's probably because I think that all Americans are retarded and I can't bear listening to a conversation of a bunch of morbidly obese whales at the table next to me at a restaurant probably talking about how fast they ate a bakers dozen of deep fried oreos.

 

Rude. We don't always eat deep fried Oreos, occasionally we eat it plain.

 

This so much. 9 times out of 10 if you eavesdrop in someone's conversation, especially in a public setting like the bar or the mall, you will hear some cringe-worthy stupidity.

 

I don't normally do it. Unless they're constantly looking at me then saying something.

 

I went to a carnival here and they had deep fried every type of candy bars. They had deep fried snickers wrapped in bacon. I threw up a little just thinking about that. Now to consider that people actually buy, eat, and talk about that stuff...

 

Lmao, you'll see strange things at carnivals and festivals in America. But, most things are better fried! Bacon is also delicious with most things. Still haven't tried the bacon ice cream sundae that my local Chillis is advertising.

 

No, because I normally have headphones in.

 

Yep, all the time. It's being aware of your surroundings and some times you catch stuff that's really interesting

 

All the time, especially when people are speaking in another language and having a giggle.

 

If i don't have headphones on when im on the bus sometimes ill listen in to peoples conversations.

 

I do it all the time, sometimes I join in on the conversation if the topic relates to my interests.

 

I feel awkward when I hear someone's convo so I just ignore it.
