little winxp error..

when i boot up my computer it says "windows explorer has incounterd an error and has stoped responding" or something similiar how do i fix this.. does it everytime i boot up my computer now im not sure what caused it..

the only way i can open programs and stuff is using the windows task manager..

im running windows xp home sp3

There are only 2 things I can think of for you to do.

You can either:

1. Do a system restore and restore the system back to a date BEFORE this started to happen.

2. Use the recovery disk that your computer came with and follow the instructions to bring your computer back to its original state. This might solve the problem, but you may also lose important information on your computer.

alright thanks, i backed my whole hd up on my external so im good if i lose data just dont wanna install windows all over again..

The easiest way for you to fix this problem is simply re-install windows. You can do this by using the CD that came with your computer.
