I know My favourite guitarist through all times. I can play most of the CoB riffs on guitar

Yeah, their bass guitar isn't really amazing. Try listen to bands such as Black Sabbath for good bass riffs. Also try Cannibal Corpse. Their bass is pretty hard to master.

meh, Lamb of God doesn't have that good guitarists. The scale goes like this:
Steve Vai -> Yngwie Malmsteen -> Herman Li -> Alexi Laiho (in talent, not in style. If it was about style, i would definately choose Alexi as number one).

Sure he's good, but definitely not the greatest...His style is similar to Herman Li.
Also, Cannibal Corpse is fast and all, but a lot of death metal is similar. Try Slayer for example, just as intense as Cannibal Corpse. Also, Lamb Of God is still simplistic in terms of bass.
In my books, guitarists are like this:
Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Ywngie Malmsteen, Steve Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Herman Li, Dimebag Darrel, Synyster Gates, Kerry King.

 

Yea hes a modern guitar god, even though he sucks ass at singing. He's the ONLY reason I even listen to Children Of Bodom

 

But then, slayer isn't even close to Death Metal. It's Thrash Metal still a good band though.

Slayer's lyrics are similar to death metal, everything they stand for is the same principals of death metal. The band is good, yes, but I don't like the singer. If you want a good thrash band, listen to Overkill.
