False reports needs to be punished

As you can see here in the dispute section someone reported grave literally on the same day or
'6 minutes' as Grave mentioned after PMing him. just because he was AFK and couldn't be there to hand him his little $1 prize from his giveaway thread
(that he is willingly doing out of his own good for free of charge)


this title effects his reputation for the day and if he were to be a service provider like i am it would attract less customers during that day
and in the end making him lose money for absolutely no reason, i have been through this and that's exactly what happens.

i have previously also gotten threats from big service providers that threatened to report me
for no reason and saying exactly the following " i can report you even if you did not do anything
wrong and it will effect you". i can grab the screenshot of that little bitch you know who you are, if requested"

we need to have some sort of punishment system towards these people who falsely report
it's not only wasting staff team reading but it is also making everyone in this site look bad.

I am suggesting to have a 1 week or a 2 day ban from sythe for false reports especially those that does not have any evidence.

 

I clearly stated it wasn't a scam report, it was merely to make him aware. Unfortunately there was not exactly a proper section that I could tell for it to be posted, however.

1. He has a Discord posted on his Sythe profile. I added it.
2. The moderator told me to add a different discord account of his.

Neither requests were accepted and he hadn't been active on Sythe in 20 days.

However, if a report is truly false then I support the suggestion, maybe there should be a new section created for situations like above that do not fall into the report a scammer or violation section.

 

Like Zora mentioned, I think this would only work for repeat offenders.

First, for someone like @Fungi that is new to the forum, maybe they don't know better about where to post something like that.
Yes, it might be a short-sighted decision with lack of any research to just immediately post there, but at the same time, we don't want to be deterring new people that don't understand how things work around here by handing out bans for something that simple.

Secondly, as a service provider myself, I can understand where you're coming from; however, I really can't see how a report on you for something nonsensical would ever damage your business. Yes, I get that the average consumer doesn't do enough research in this business, but if they're smart enough to check scam forum to see if there's anything about you, they're also smart enough to read that thread that is posted about you and come to their own conclusion. In the case of the one against @Grave today, if he WERE a service provider, any client that saw that would laugh it off and if anything would be more inclined to give him business imo because they'd find it amusing AND see that he's giving back to the community.

No support from me on this one.

 

It literally says in his thread title "not a scammer but grave".

Pretty sure someone would get punished anyway if they were mass fake reporting, I'm almost certain they'd be breaking other rules.

No support this is just salt tbh mans was excited he won a prize and 5 mins probs felt like 30

 

haha, I was primarily worried because he hadn't been logged in on Sythe for 20 days prior. Still getting use to the Sythe sections and sub-sections. My only previous forum experienc was on the old rsbot forum many years ago and various mushroom forums..

But yea, to readdress...
I think there should be one more section added to the report a scammer and violations section. Could be a section dedicated to trying to reach people due to a debt, payment or etc. Situations that are not a scam or whatever.
