DotA, LoL, what's the difference? Both are games that are far superior to RuneScape but that I'll never play because my computer is too shitty to run them.

 

There's actually a lot of difference between them, not trying to bash LoL players because they enjoy the game. But Dota takes more skill and has way bigger / serious competitive aspect.

LoL is basically a more chillax version, for people who are just starting off the genre. It's more watered down and it's easier to learn.

LoL was created by one of the original Dota creators, but he stopped making dota and passed it on to Icefrog a few years back, Icefrog updated Wacraft 3 version of DotA for a few years and then got a job with valve, and they decided to make DotA 2.

Also my first dota 2 pub match as clockwerk (Name pumpkin) did fairly well.
It was quite fun to play dota again, I might get back into it.

I played dota for ages on WC3, moved onto LoL for something new/different, a bigger player base, better game client etc. But I expect I will move onto dota 2 upon release. I haven't read hardly anything about it, it is a paid game, right? If so, how much does it cost?
