Topic of discussion: Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender, Queers/Questioning

A couple years ago my friend who is also like my little sister came out as a lesbian, she was shunned by her the community and was bullied which was expected.
She also had a few friends that had her back and supported her so she managed to keep her sanity. I, of course, supported her decision because her
sexual orientation does not effect my life in anyway.

Fast forward a bit, she started to question her sexual orientation once again. She eventually came out as transgender and wanted to be a man?
I'm not quite sure of all the correct terminology but this is basically what she wanted. She confided her concerns to me. I do admit,
I was puzzled at first and I thought she was jumping the gun too fast but she assured me she was confident in her decision.
I supported her, she soon became a he, and a friend who was like my sister to my brother.

He eventually came out to his friends, they completely rejected him from the world. They said they felt betrayed and thought he should kill himself and continually harassed him.
They drove him to the brink of suicide.

Why?

Thats the only question I asked, I thought it out in my head thousands of times for the past couple of weeks. What possible reason do you have to feel betrayed?
Why do you unnecessarily hate when the sexual orientation or the gender of my little brother has no effect on your life whatsoever.
What possible reason do you have to put the thoughts of suicide in the head of my little brother and torment him so emotionally he is giving up on the race known as humans.

This was a rant of sorts but also wanted to hear the opinions of some people,
are you scared of LGBTQs? Why? How does it effect your life?a

People are naturally judgmental and if they don't approve of the situation they're going to overreact do I think the threats were unwarranted of course. To answer your question it doesn't effect anyone's life but the person who is having it done.

If a guy says hes gay usually only other guys will tease them, it's like they think that because he's gay he's suddenly gonna want to check them out and be some sort of paedophile.

With all that there is in the world we are least tolerant of humanity and how they identify themselves rather than the real problems at hand.

TO me, there is no excuse for passing judgement for how they choose to live their lives. I do not discriminate, for it does no good. It means nothing to me in the end of things, so why would I care?

I think that some people lash out at things they cannot accept or understand, because that is all they know how to do. Instead of trying to understand the psyche of a LGBT, they deny that its an thing in their day to day lives. It goes beyond basic psychology in my opinion.

Some are raised to deflect, others to segregate, and many to hate or discriminate. Such is life, and people in general. This is why there will always be debates about the placement of LGBT's in our society as a whole.

Maybe, though, I am wrong. Who knows.

It's just like getting bullied for being a nerd. You get made fun of if your different.

Fuck them faggots. Kill them all

On a more serious note, I disagree with homosexuality and I'm completely entitled to that opinion. It doesn't make me narrow minded or ignorant. I don't like it and never will. I don't endorse it either. I pray my children are straight. Now, that doesn't mean I'm against them having marriages and what not, although if I'm correct, they can join in civil union and reap all the benefits of being married.

But not agreeing with something doesn't mean that harassment is necessary.

I could care less about someone's sexual orientation. It's their life and they are entitled to do and be whatever they want. At the end of the day my life is unchanged so I have no reason to oppose it.

I don't give a fuck. I have gay friends and straight friends. Whatever floats your boat.

I can't wait until five years from now when marriage equality has been achieved across the nation.
