Old Player Thinking About Coming Back.

Hey everyone. I quit Runescape about 6 months ago just when Jagex announced that they were working on a "new combat" system. When I heard about this update, I heard things like pures, tanks, and other non-main accounts for PvP were going to be useless. I had a few questions for you all and would appreciate your help.

First of all, is it only possible to play a main right now, or do pures and tanks still exist in PvP?

Secondly, I noticed gold price went down by A LOT over the months while I was gone. It was going for $1/m from professional sellers however it is now all the way down to .4 at this point. What happened?

Thirdly, I'm sure most of you were aware about the bot nuke last year. Is it still possible to bot in this game or do you need to do EVERYTHING by hand?

Fourthly, the leveling process has always been a lengthy one when I have played. Did they do anything to make leveling a faster process if botting is not a viable option anymore?

bots dominate the whole game (untill eoc which will apparently stop them) 8/10 people you meet on rs will be bots now therefore pushing down the price of gold as there is more supply than demand.

 

So what has happened while I was gone? Last I knew bots were completely useless because Jacmob from RSBuddy had joined Blizzard to stop bots. What bots are popular these days and what does everyone seem to be using?

 

Joined blizzard? Blizzard own WoW, jagex own rs. But yeah, he did.

If you want to pk with a main, you need really good stats. The most popular for maxed mains is boxing, where you can no armour fight in the d.a for 50/50 odds. It's like dicing/flowering.

 

Sorry was like 5 in the morning when I made that post haha. Anyways, I really am into pure PKing however I hear everyone talking about this EoC thing and how it's going to ruin the game for everything but mains. If that's the way things are gonna be in the future idk if it's worth getting back into it.

 

I don't think it would be worth coming back. I have quit and only use RS for RL money purposes eg botting etc but I'd never play by hand - my life is so much better without it. Go and spend your time in the gym getting shredded and healthy rather than sit around playing RS all day...

Jack Goff made a thread that deals with the recent complaints towards EoC. If you're interested in that specific matter click here. As for Runescape within the time period you were gone. Many bot developers have crawled out of the wood work, but Jagex claims to have a trump card against bots. Basically, there's been a continuation of what you witnessed previously. Dicing has been removed from the game, and all sorts of gambling methods have been implemented by player's wits so that gambling can exist. The more specific you are, the more thoroughly we can address your questions for future reference.

 

Its only good if you are a maxed main with 99 herb and 99+ dung and quest cape.

 

1. atm main PVP is very hard ( high combat ) and Pures are still relevant.
2. Gold prices went down due to Flower Hosts selling gold, Stakers, Bots, and Bot Farms. When EOC arrives, if bots break then you will see a surge in the price of gold maybe back up to .80-1$
3. PowerBot, and Epicbot both have simple free scripts. Or if you have some investment money PowerBot has some overpriced premium scripts such as iDungeon which I am using to get 99 dung atm.
4. Depends on the skill but there are a lot of fast skills to bot. Plus Runecrafting has a new system which makes it way easier to level.
