Let's see if you guys can help me out

K so there's this one chick at school. We talked quiet a bit, and it seemed like we both like each other. I took her out to lunch a couple times (open-campus lunch) with a couple other friends.
etc.
So anyways, Friday before break comes along. She's having a really bad day and has been in a po'd mood pretty much. Well, I asked her out, really stupid on my part.
Anyways, she says back, "Maybe." and then immediately takes that back saying "Okay that's a bad reply. I'll think about it over break."
I just said that's cool, y'know, and let her go.

The thing is, now that she said this, I can't get myself to talk to her over facebook our by phone. I guess I already prepared myself to be rejected, and I don't want to bother her and stuff. You know.
And if she says yes, I've already kind of lost that attachment I had before I asked her.
But don't get me wrong, I still like her. I still want to talk to her. But I can't.

 

Let her make the next move. She knows you are interested. If she doesn't do anything you know she isn't really interested.

 

Love is a gamble, once you make the leap of faith. There is no turning back. My opinion, you can't do anything and anything you do end up doing will just make look desperate on your part.

 

If you want her, go for her. If you simply want to "play" her, let her come after you. That's all there is to "love".

 

I think it would be the best not to give her attention untill she contacts you. Ofcourse, this does depend on her character as well. But if she really likes you there's no need to worry. And there's always alot of other nice girls as well

When you ask a girl they want a sweet caring guy that gives them alot of attention. But if they get all the attention they want they get bored quickly and might start seeing you as a friend. You need to find the right balance

 

As she said, she'll let you know after the break, so just leave it be and let her get back to you in her own time.

I wouldn't suggest getting in contact until after break, would seem like your pressuring her or something.

 

+1. Just sail it out, man. Worse-case scenario, she isn't interested. Big deal, keep talking to her. Friendship is still worth keeping.

Don't hassle her about it. Of course she's going to say "Maybe" on an impulse. Stay cool, and be aloof.

Just treat her exactly like you did before you asked her out.
If you act differently then she may question it.

If she gets back to you, she is interested. If you try and make more contact with her about the issue, you'll look desperate. Just play it cool, and act normal.

 

I think you've emotionally guarded yourself and created some distance between you two in preparation of the possibility of getting rejected. But maybe this girl has a very busy break, or has some things that she is dealing with in her own life, and therefore was unable to commit to a date on the spot?

If she does end up deciding she would like to go out with you - I think you should give it a shot, even if you feel like you are less interested now. Who knows, maybe time spent with this girl will reignite your passion towards her and you guys will have a wonderful time? If she ends up rejecting you, well it sounds like you have already put up some emotional walls and prepared yourself for that possibility, so stand up, dust yourself off, and go get the next girl
