Legit method of bypassing schools block w/o using proxy

Just another method of bypassing your schools block, it doesn't work for all websites but it does for some.
I did notice when the browser lags, sometimes the site index does show up but as soon as you refresh it gets blocked.

Everyone knows most proxy's or sites such as meebo.com are blocked on a schools network.

But no one actually knows how to bypass the block legitly without using a proxy.

Method:

When your typing in the URL in the address bar simple add a(n) s to
https://meebo.com

While the http stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol the https just means
Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer
