Death Note

Has anyone watched Death Note/is currently watching?

I hadn't seen it up till a few days ago, and god damn, it is one of the best written animes I've ever seen.

I won't explain what it is about, but, I highly recommend you guys to watch it. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely would recommend Death Note for any mature audience that isn't necessarily looking for an all out action series, but more so a game of intellect.
You do certainly not have to be an anime lover/watcher to see this anime.
Any fan of high quality tv-shows can certainly enjoy Death Note, which certainly is reflected by its standing on the IMDb's top list.

 

I never saw the appeal it was always over rated in my opinion.

 

I watched it this summer and it's definitely up there in my favorite animes. I'm generally a fan of more action-involved (ex: Fairy Tail or FMA), but the story/intellectual/the writing in general was fantastic in Death Note.

Definitely worth a watch if anyone looking at this thread hasn't seen it.

Possibly my favorite anime period. I've watched it twice myself and again and again with countless others who I introduce to it. I know every scene.

 

Was a pretty good watch. I loved the countless mind games Light and L had.

 

Only anime I've watched. I got hooked instantly. I love shows with mind games and damn has it got some of those

 

I started and finished it over the past 4 days (finished now).

I personally think after the 'L' saga, it didn't keep up in terms of quality writing/plot/red herrings, but still nonetheless good.

 

Did you watch it with English subs, or the English Dub?

 

I'm starting Deathnote soon. Watching Darker Than Black/Code Geass right now but almost done with Code Geass. I watched the first ep of Deathnote already and tbh it's kinda creepy imo.

 

Definitely one of my favorite anime shows I have ever watched! Definitely recommend others to watch it.

 

Started it last night, now I can't stop watching it lol. It's a well thought out anime

Attack on titan is pretty dank too.

 

English dub, all on Youtube. Subtitles would ruin it IMO.

 

I mean this is a classic argument but the dubbed version is better.

L sounds so much cooler especially but a lot of the characters voice acting is a lot better dubbed. Unless you're a slow reader or get tunnel vision when you read watch it dubbed if you like both ways.

 

I think listening to a foreign language would put me off if I was reading subs, lol

 

Proper quality and all that? I heard some were dubbed outside of the proper western studious and uploaded to youtube, and thus are shitty. Or was yours the proper dubbed one? Just curious.

 

I watched it through netflix. English dub was fine on it (atleast to my knowledge)

Anyways, like I said show is amazing.

 

It wasn't perfect, no. But it wasn't terrible at all, I didn't ever think "wow this is bad" or anything.

 

Nooo dude try it some time, the japanese is 99% of the time better voice acted and the language is nice to listen to.

It isn't distracting to me at least.
