I've got a question regarding the freedom of speech over the internet.

If you live in a country that doesn't have freedom of speech, and you go on YouTube and say the 'N' word, or other hate speak, can you get in trouble in your country?

I was wondering because YouTube is based in the US (California to be specific), and the US has freedom of speech, but, the other country doesn't... can the said person still get in trouble for hate speak?

Probably, In the UK you can be arrested for saying any thing racist... It's pathetic.

That's actually a good question. I bet it's your country's rules that take priority over the laws of the U.S.A, because it's you who made the video and distributed the video. Not to mention, there are many other hosting sites, so I doubt your choice of YouTube would like get you out of trouble. Stupid shit, I know.

BTW, Own, about your signature, I don't think it's true that 1/2 of all people understand binary...I like the sig more where it's "There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who wonder who the other 9 are." Sorry, totally random. Couldn't be bothered to PM.

It probably depends on the situation. If it's a country as strict as Singapore, you'd probably be at LEAST thrown in jail for said acts. It also depends on how they catch you, etc.

I'm sure it varies regardless.

If you think about it, the reason why the UK take it seriously is because most of the big shops in london, cardiff, and basically everywhere are all owned by "paki's" what would we do if they left the country if we called them the "N" word. We would all be living in the queens dustbins.

Then are unemployment rate would drop. Greatly... They don't own big shops, they own corner shops, market stalls etc.

If you didn't have freedom of peach you wouldn't be on youtube in the first place. Second the internet is real, real people see that stuff, i'm real your real it's like going in a crowd and saying that.

Even if it was legal to say that, would you feel good about yourself after saying that?
I am white, I hate racists against any color.

That's good and all, but, what the fuck does that have to do with my question? My question is about legality, not morality.

Free speech in Denmark. :)
Although, that doesn't mean I'm going around saying "F-word N-word!! They F-word only came to this F-word country to F-word H-word!" :p
