    Learning JavaScript

    Hey guys, so I want to learn how to script Runescape bots, and I just rented 6 or 7 Beginner Java books from the library and bookmarked a couple Java tutorial websites. Can you guys recommend any websites with tutorials that really focus on RS scripting? Also, when do you think I will be able to start writing scripts? I have a beginner's grasp on programming, but I learn new things very quickly.

    Honestly, it is the best community around to learn about bot scripting as it's still in it's early stages you can progress along with the community with a pretty solid client and anti-randoms.

    Good luck:)

    The Oracle Java tutorials are always a good place to start.

    If you're looking to make some sort of bytecode bot (e.g. one that utilizes the java.lang.reflection, asm, or bcel libraries), you should probably read the VM specification and pay specific attention to chapter 4 (the class file format), as you will need to know this while writing an updater (though you definitely have a long way to go since you still refer to Java as JavaScript).

    To learn java Script is simple. java script is not from sun(now Oracle) its from netscape. the java script is mainly used for client side validation and it is ease to use validation with java script rather than writing with core java. use w3scools to work on java script. it is also used in xml.

    I don't think you can script bots with Javascript. You use Java.

    ^^^^^^

    Java != JavaScript

    RuneScape bots use Java. All you really need is basic java knowledge and learn the API of the bot you are scripting for.
