    Java problem on new laptop?

I recently bought a new laptop with windows 7. I downloaded and installed the latest version of Java, but every time I try to load RuneScape, it stops at 3% (both Firefox and Google Chrome). I decided to try using IE, but it says "It appears that you do not have Java installed." I went onto Java.com and 'confirmed' that I have the latest version, which I do. I tried "Force Sun Java" (IE only) but it still says the same thing.

Since it's a new laptop, I'm not sure if I need to download another program? Also, I'm unsure as to why I have a 'C:/program files (x86)' folder and a 'C:/program files' folder. What's with the (x86)?

Does anyone know why this is happening?

The (x86) folder is for 32 bit programs, and the regular one is for 64 bit (your OS) programs.

There's really not enough info to help you with the Java issue... it could be a number of things.

Ahh that makes sense. Would you care to specify what other info I can post so I can get this resolved? It's not my firewall. Also, I've just downloaded the RS client and I can play RS through that... But I can't play through any other client such as IE, Chrome, Firefox, RSBot... Really confused as to why.

Edit: The problem has fixed itself. I don't understand how or why...
2nd Edit: Having the same problem again. After playing with my laptop for an hour, I found that deleting ".jagex_cache_32" in "C:\" then resetting your laptop solves the problem.
