Large Paypal Fees

Hi, I just received my first Paypal payment in the form of a gift, and I looked at the transaction details, and it says they charged a $.33 fee for a $1 transaction, meaning I only received $.67. Is this normal, or is Paypal stealin my money?

 

Sadly, this is normal. Paypal takes a base fee from all transactions for $.29 and in addition 2-3% of the sale. Balance funded p/o and gift payments do not have fees

 

PayPal is a massive scam.

Always have the seller send the payment as a gift, to prevent this.

 

This does not always prevent the fee. The sender does not HAVE to pay the fee, and if the payment is not funded via balance there always includes a fee as do Premier Verified accounts.
