So, I'm in an extremely shitty situation... I have two badass laptops, one runs great, but the screen was cracked by my new puppy. The second has everything better in it, but the video card is messed up, and it wont run anything more graphical than paint. I wish I could just like, wondertwin style combine their powers, but once I break open my laptop I have no clue what to do. So, I guess my question is, can I somehow use the screen of one laptop on the other? Whether it takes breaking one apart or not I don't really care.

I don't know about switching the screen. But you could hook it up to an external monitor. Also most laptops have the video card built into the motherboard...so you can't interchange them...it really bites ha.

Well money is a little tight at the moment so I can't just go buy a new monitor.

Aren't laptop video cards removable? I remember when I had my laptop customized they removed my graphics card and gave me a better one so I could run Photoshop smoother

They can be, but way to much effort.

Does your working laptop have a VGA output or anything? If it does you can connect it to an external monitor.

The problem with laptops is that you cant biuld one yourself. So unlike a PC laptop parts are limited and should only be modified by professionals. Your best bet is to hook it up with a TV as said above and save up till you can get the monitor fixed by experts.

Do NOT attempt to exchange monitors yourself, laptops are fragile and you have an huge chance of goofing up.
