    Laptop help

ok so my laptop charger broke but i have another charger and i would like to know if it would work with my laptop.

    my broke charger: AC 100v 13A 50-60Hz
    DC 19V 3.95A

    my other charger: AC input 100 - 240V ~, 1.6A, 50 - 60Hz
    DC output 19.0v 4.74A MAX (90W MAX).

i have no idea what any of that means im just reading it of the charger pack thing any information is appreciated.

    thanks.

Give it a go, if the connection fits the port then it will likely work, as most laptops have a different type of charger port. If it charges it, there shouldn't be a problem.

It will charge a lot faster due to the amperage being higher. Hope your battery doesn't fuck up, but I doubt it.

    Do it.

This happened to me as well, I had to buy like an $60 pack with like 20 different plugs and outlet things. It is like a universal battery pack and it comes with a compatibility paper that explains what will work and what won't depending on the model and brand of your computer.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet: You need to make sure your actual connection is the same: An N sized male to an N sized female, etc. >_> Otherwise you won't be able to connect at all.

./sidenote: I had to fix a friend's Toshiba laptop when the actual charger plug (inside the laptop) broke off. >.<

I'm not too familiar with the technical details about power usage and stuff but if it were me I would just go out and buy a new cord. It'll probably cost like a max of $20-$40 to replace the charger, but if the other charger fucks up your battery you might be looking at a much larger expense. Give it a go if you want though, just my 2c.
