Another terrible mass shooting happened. It's unfortunate that this had to occur, but one thing I don't get is why white males who are mass shooters are labeled "lone white male", while muslims are labeled terrorists, and blacks are labeled as thugs.

 

Ye, whenever its a muslim shooting, its "because of his religion", when it is black its either "gang related" when it is white "he was mentally unstable"

 

I mean to be fair generally each of those things are true. How often is violent act committed by black people mental illness, or acts committed by white people gang violence? I mean these media descriptions are there because it is generally the stereotype and all stereotypes are rooted in truths. I mean I don't get the disconnect and offense here. White people usually snap, go crazy and then shoot up the place. If it is a Muslim shooter it is not because they were pissed off that they got fired, a lot of times it is extremism related, and generally when it is black violence it is a vast majority of the time gang violence.

 

How many black people commit violent acts that are linked to a mental illness? A lot.

Do you hear about it? No.

Why? Because the media is trying to create a disparity between races.

Mental illnesses vary from environmental, psychological, and hereditary factors. To say that black people aren't suffering from environmental and psychological troubles that stem from a social disparity at the very least would be a joke. The media hand picks stories to broadcast for an agenda that is favorable to them. This is why the majority of headline news titles are stereotypical and ignorant.

 

The attack done by a muslim male at the Military recruiting center also was not labeled a terrorist act (yet).

Most lone wolf white shooters have been doing so to well, do so. They're arguably mentally ill and they do not have a political goal/nor any political gain from shooting up a movie theater. This would change if say he went into a movie theater with the wish of inciting a race war, or pushing gun control forward, etc.

It just so happens most members of terrorist groups such as ISIS are indeed muslim and if they commit a horrendous act and are doing it with a political goal (basic definition, but stay with me), they are labeled as a terrorist.

IMO African Americans being labeled thugs is just the correct way for the Media to say "nigger." I've yet to see thug assigned to a white criminal and you can see the discrepancies when reporting on white vs. black activities.

Maybe I live in an area where we see the world differently but when I hear about a mass shooting it never crosses my mind to wonder what god they followed. Someone who shoots a group of people is just some douche with a gun and I could care less about the color of his skin. People who think it's okay to kill innocent people at all are incomprehensible and beyond that I could care less. I'm not even going to attempt to take a side on the whole black shooters vs. white shooters because it's irrelevant. A person who kills other people is in the wrong and deserves what comes to him.

What the funny part is all stereotypes are based in some amount of truth. It's only when people point out the facts that certain crybabies in our society start screaming "racism!" "islamophobia!"
